Hyderabad, June 11: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) second-in-command Akbaruddin Owaisi, who heads the party in Telangana, is reportedly battling for his life at a hospital in London. According to reports, Akbaruddin Owaisi's health has deteriorated. On Saturday, AIMIM chief and MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, urged people to pray for his brother. Akbaruddin Owaisi represents Chandrayangutta constituency in Telangana Assembly.

Akbaruddin, who has been undergoing treatment in London, complained of severe pain in the stomach and vomited three days ago. Since then, his health condition hasn't improved, reports said. Speaking at an event to celebrate Eid,  his brother Asaduddin Owaisi urged supporters to pray for Akbaruddin's speedy recovery. The Hyderabad MP also said that Akbaruddin's health had deteriorated.

"I wish you on Eid. I also request you to pray for Akbaruddin's health. I received information that his condition has worsened again. May Allah protect him and improve his health," the elder Owaisi was quoted as saying. Akbaruddin had sustained a bullet injury to his abdomen in 2011 when assailants opened fire at him. To this day, the bullet remains lodged near his kidney as doctors warned that its removal may affect his legs.

It's been 9 years but Akbaruddin still suffers because of the bullet inside his body. In the 2018 Telangana Assembly election, he won the Chandrayangutta seat for the fifth time since 1999. He was arrested for alleged hate speech in 2013.
